Frequently Asked Questions
What therapy modalities do you use?
It depends on the individual or pair. While I use talk therapy, I also like to mix in books when you’re open to it. In addition to talk therapy we may use CBT, EMDR, Play Therapy, Child Parent Psychotherapy, and Mindfulness throughout our time together.
How do I get started to work with you?
Contact me to set up a phone call. I offer (and encourage) a free initial phone conversation (about 15 minutes) to help you determine if working with me is a good fit. We can set up this call by phone or e-mail and discuss any questions you have at that time.
What are some questions I can ask during the initial phone call?
I believe that when it comes to therapy, the connection and relationship is the most important. Its vital that you find someone that is right for you. Here are a few questions others have asked me and some I’ve asked others when starting therapeutic journeys; What support or communication do you have in place in between sessions? Do you provide homework or exercises for in between sessions? Do you refer out if you can’t meet my needs? How will we know when therapy is no longer needed? How will you decide what approach is right for me? How do you measure progress? How do you acknowledge and minimize the power differential?
What is your experience?
I have been working with individuals, families and children since 2015. Because of the nature of my most recent role where I was for more than four years as a bilingual mental health clinician I worked with all age groups from infants to seniors. I am comfortable in dyadic settings with young children and their caregivers but also working one on one with adults. I am fully bilingual and can offer services in English & Spanish.
